🖼️ Image Compressor & Resizer
Choose your photos, set the quality and maximum size, then download the smaller versions. Everything happens in your browser; nothing is uploaded.
What next?
How to reduce photo size
Phone photos are usually 3–8 MB, while forms and email attachments often cap uploads at 1–2 MB. The most effective approach has two steps: first reduce the resolution (for example a longest edge of 1920 px), then set JPEG quality to 70–80%. That usually cuts file size by 80–90% with almost no visible difference.
JPEG or WebP?
WebP is roughly 25–35% smaller than JPEG at the same visual quality and is ideal for websites. Some official upload forms only accept JPG, so choose JPEG if you are unsure.
Privacy
Your photos are processed by your browser's own graphics engine and never uploaded. Re-encoded files also drop EXIF metadata such as GPS location.
Frequently asked questions
Are my photos uploaded to a server?
No. Compression happens entirely in your browser; files never leave your device.
How do I get an image under 100 KB?
Set the longest edge to 800 px and quality to 60–70%. Lower the quality a little more if needed.
Is location data removed?
Yes. Re-encoded files do not contain EXIF or GPS data.
