Staff attendance and access control (PDKS)
A system that manages staff attendance, visitors and card-based access together.
I brought staff entry and exit records, visitor reception and card-controlled access points into one system. Movements from card readers are consolidated centrally and reported together with attendance, leave and shift data. Visitor registration and temporary access run through the same system.
Key decisions
- Different devices, one format: movements from card readers at different points are converted to a single format centrally, so reports do not depend on the device.
- Identity from one source: with the Active Directory integration, staff data is not managed separately; the identity already defined in the institution is used.
- Time-limited access for visitors: visitor registration and temporary access live in the same system, and access expires on its own.
My role: Sole developer: analysis, development, card reader integration and go-live.
